Tornadoe Sirens

Tornadoes are very common here. The sirens go off every spring and fall at least once. When Ammon was younger this never seemed to affect him, but this last time he freaked. It didn't help that the power went out and I decided we all needed to get in the pantry closet. He didn't like getting in the closet. He kept telling me that wind can't blow down brick houses. He said "I know it is true....I saw it on Super Why... the wolf couldn't blow the brick house down!"

Sprinkler Fun

This is the way to beat the Texas heat!!!

Garden Update

Gardening has been so great this year! I feel like I have learned so much. It is nice to see some improvement and it makes me hopeful that I will be a great gardener some day. It really is therapeutic for me.

I used food straight from my garden to make someone in our ward dinner! It felt great!

Notice the netting over the entire garden? This was my solution to the pesky neighborhood rabbits. It worked but the plants started growing up into it and now I can't lift it to weed. Jeff said next year he will build me a PVC pipe structure to hold up the netting.

Compare this to my last posting of the garden ....This is a forest now! I had to transplant the strawberries to give the watermelon more space and they still are growing all over the tomatoes.

Practice Makes Perfect

The boys love playing my piano. Unfortunately they hate that I make them play softly and use the correct shape of their hands (using all fingers). Most of the time they only press a few keys and the thrill is over, but the other day they lasted almost 5 whole minutes! I just had to get out the camera and document. I guess it might be time for lessons huh?

Croquet Anyone?

Fun with The Harts

We got to visit our best friends down in Houston last week. It's like a small family reunion when we get together. The kids run around playing and having fun just like cousins would. Here is a pic of all the kids.
